Transportation

Minneapolis LRT at the VA Medical Center Minneapolis LRT at the VA Medical Center

Each day, most Minnesotans have no choice but to hop in their car to get to work, school, or any important destination. Twin Cities suburban mothers and fathers spend 17 full days a year behind the wheel - more than the average parent spends dressing, bathing and feeding a child. Over the next 30 years, the Twin Cities will grow by nearly one million new residents. Our communities need safe, reliable transportation choices. We pursue a broad range of transportation choices to address present and future challenges:

  • Twin Cities Transitways
  • Bike paths and bike lanes
  • Pedestrian friendly communities
  • Expanded bus service throughout metro and greater Minnesota

We have also begun a blog, Transit to Green Space, to highlight how to access Twin City area parks without a car and share our efforts to better link public transit and green space.
